Interested in becoming a volunteer? We are interested in having you.
Small Ritual Coffee is more than a coffee shop – it is a place to serve, enjoy, express, and act. We are a non-profit, social enterprise initiated by the Church at Southpoint for the benefit and enjoyment of the community. Any profit at year-end is held in trust for projects and initiatives that will directly benefit this community and beyond. We feature local artists and musicians, a place for kids, and we want to serve as a venue to highlight issues that are important to our community – as well as serve great coffee! In order to achieve this we need the community to get involved and what better way than volunteering some time.
If this concept interests you, then there are several ways you can participate, from volunteering in hospitality to working as a barista. Training will be provided regularly for all volunteers. Please let us know what areas interest you and what experience and special skills you have to offer.
After attending an orientation and training you will be contacted every two to four weeks for scheduling. Shifts will be between two to four hours. Our hope is that you can commit to a minimum of one shift every 2 weeks. For some people this will be a difficult commitment and for others it will be easy. We will do our best to work with each individual situation.
All volunteers (19 and over) will be required to have a criminal record check completed within the first three months. If you are a minor, a consent form will need to be signed by your guardian.
We hope to see you at the next orientation. If you have any questions about volunteering or Small Ritual, please email us at volunteer@smallritualcoffee.org. If you already know us and want to get started right away, please fill out our online application form.
